Looking for some help here, I must be missing something. I have been running PLEX with a Raspberry PI 4 (8GB RAM) using a Buffalo NAS for the past several years on my Philips Android TV.
This week, I bought a new TCL 4K UHD Google TV and Plex will NOT play any videos reliably on it. Sometimes I can reboot the TV and I can get one video to play, but then nothing. I’ve gone through the settings, scaled back the video quality, everything that I could think of. No love here.
I have two IP ranges (192.168.2.x and 192.168.68.x) and the server (R-Pi 4) has both in the network settings for my local/home network.
No other devices in my house have an issue. I can stream to my phone and cast it to my TCL TV, it works fine on my Firestick and on my Chromecast with Google TV. It is ONLY with my UHD TCL TV.
I am certain that something isn’t connecting right, so I’m looking for a little help. Server and app are all up to date.
When I start Plex on the TV, it loads just fine. I can scroll through the libraries perfectly, but when I select a video/show to watch, the screen starts to load but I only get the little orange loading wheel. It NEVER goes away no matter how long I leave it.
If I remote into the Pi and look at the server dashboard, it shows that nothing is playing. It’s like the TV can’t even connect.
Thoughts? Help?
