This is my first time trying Plex on a 4K TV…
I share my Plex server with my in-laws and they recently just got a new 4k TV.
TCL 5 Series with Google TV Model 55S546
All other apps seem to work fine. They didn’t have this issue with 1080P TV and I have people in other states that access my server without issue.
TV Firmware and apps are all up to date.
When they load up any movie or show from Plex it buffers for a bit and then when it plays it’s almost like the backlight on the TV is strobing. Even when you open the TV menu while in Plex. And to me the quality looks poor compared to what I’m used to on a 1080p TV and it buffers alot. Trailers play fine but as soon as you play the actual movie or show it doesn’t.
All my content is 1080P or lower for reference.
I’ve tried messing with all the settings on the TV and couldn’t see any changes.
