I have no problem with updates, they are needed and well, when you pay you should expect to get smth functional, but when it’s free, you’re the beta tester, I get it.
I have two major problem with the new mobile app :
I can’t access my libraries, my server is outdated and I need to update to 1.41.2. The problem is my server is on Nvidia Shield and I need to wait for Google to release it ? is that right ? How come I am only on v.1.25.3 on my Shield !?! lol
So What can I do ? just sit and wait ? not really worth having a PLEX PASS in this situation isn’t it ?
I use Plex for my own videos stream. My movies, my family holidays etc… I don’t care of all the free streaming options and services you guys are trying to push to us… so now my phone app’s Home Page is just those… I will always need to click to libraries when I open the app ? can’t you at least set an option in the prefs to open the app to the last tab that was used ? or even better : can’t you let us customise our homepage and display all our Libraires if we chose to have them on the home page ? That would be nice… thank you

Have you been in to the google play store on the shield to see if it is waiting to update ?

Yes I have been and I just get the option to open the app. There is no update there.
funny thing is I still get notifications from the App anytime I update the librairies…
Go here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.plexapp.mediaserver.smb and sign in to the same account your Shield is using.
And see if you can initiate the update from there.

I can’t do much except install plex with this link. I use a mac or iPhone. Could this be the problem ?
Should I try to go there from within the Shield ? The login I am using on shield is the same gmail I use on my computers. So not sure going from shield will help

So on the Shield the Play Store is pretty limited and not very well displayed…
In my apps I only see the PLEX app, in the settings of which I can see the Server version.
And when you search plex on the search bar of the Plays Store, you can only see the Plex app in the results. But if you select Plex in the play store and scroll down, after the review and suggestions you get other choice where you can see PLEX Server app. and this one you can update !
so even if my settings are set to auto update it was not auto updating that one, maybe because it’s not listed as an “official” app ? I don’t know …
anyway I updated it and now I can see my librairies in the iPhone app.

And now that I can see my libraires I want to go back to point number 2.
Plex used to be a media management app and now more and more it’s going to Free TV streaming. It’s fine with me unless it still allows me to manage the access to my libraries in a comfortable way.
So on my TV, I can manage my home to see only my libraries, latest movies added, by each library. And eventually my Services, Netflix etc… and that is fine…
But now I my phone, i only get shortcuts to my libraries on top, having to scroll right to see each of them then click to see the content of one library..
I can’t customise the home at all. I can’t believe nobody thought of allowing the user to customise the home. For me this app has lost 50% of its interest…
Is there a place where people can suggest features for the mobile app ? Smth with vote system so Plex people can see what users really want ?
I can feel the shift from PLEX to Free TV since a little while now. Maybe I am the only one here interested in media management… and maybe Plex is not for me anymore… who knows…
But even then, if Free TV is the new app to be, not being able to customise the home… not good

thank you for this, I had the same issue and the server doesnt seem to auto update thought maybe it was a regional issue or something
