I am in complete agreement. REQUIRING an internet connection AND logging into their site is ridiculous for viewing your local content.
How about adding some fallback code if the plex authentication fails so you can at least watch your content when their services go down.
Had the same thing happen, I guess they fixed something on their end cause I can access it now, but still have weird issues. And this is on my Linux server. So the problem is global
OMFG you have to be kidding I just got access back and here pops up that FLOCKIN warning again. I’m afraid to refresh the tab with PLEX server open in it now.
EDIT:
OK message or not server seems to be staying up for now. One question I cannot find the command to have PLEX auto start with the system, can someone please post it? Thanks
Should be fixed now.
and what if it’s not ?
Can’t access anything using samsung app or shield, from a pc the logging page (“select a user”) doesn’t even load…
Have you tried restarting the apps? On the Shield you might need to do a force close of the app.
just did a force close on the shield, no change… i’m stuck in a infinite loading, my library isn’t there… (i do have free plex shows)
Try restarting your server.
Can someone post the terminal command please. Thanks
ok it works now, thanks.
Can you explain to me why do i need to restart the whole server for an issue that wasn’t on my side ? (even local clients stopped working)
I don’t know. It shouldn’t have been necessary. I didn’t need to do it for my personal server.
ok, i hoped you could have helped me to figure it out since it looks weird to me too… Thanks anyway it works now and that’s the main thing
There maybe something in your PMS logs if you want to upload them, I can take a look.
Ah, the infamous logs - that’ll solve EVERYTHING, lol. If in doubt turn it off and back off again, eh?
Get your overlords to focus on fixing the main product instead of firing their load on any other money making opportunity…
Thanks as non helpful as ever. I finally found it. Thanks for the typical no help at all that PLEX is EXTREMELY famous for.
But you see it was.
Previously, PLEX would allow you to log into your server locally using the 127.0.0.1:3400 or whatever port you turned on. Now you can’t.
Now they have closed that because they are just like Microsoft. You don’t like the software, Quit using it. Oh BTW, We can change our minds anytime.
For a backup, I have added Kodi to my system. I know it works locally and I will never have to worry about backstabbing.
This is crazy because of the pressure of the silent money makers…
Makes me think of Direct TV when they talk about how great they are.
PLEX was a great system running on an Win7. Now you have to have a thourbred running to get any action out of it.
What does all this mean? “Claim” my server??? It’s on my local network. I can play everything from the files…Plex worked fine 2 days ago and now I get the "media can’t be played’ error.
Do not tell us that all these people had internal network errors. That makes no sense.
This is what bugs me - the quick posting “Team Members”.
jeezo, check what is happening out there - asking for logs ain’t gonna cut it when the whole system is in desperate need of an overhaul…
For the money we pay we deserve a DEDICATED support team - totally USELESS Plex support as usual.
They should try to trademark whack a mole for obvious reasons…
They should try to trademark whack a mole for obvious reasons…
How about “Whack-A-Dev” instead?
Only if the Disciples change course.
It’s difficult not to seem like a lone voice sometimes - especially on the UK DVR Guide thread (New Plex Guide Very Poor in UK) - it seems like you are the only one with any problems, despite the noise around you - as is evident on this thread - this is not a common problem, only a singular one that YOU are having…
