I’ve tried for several hours to fix my issue but am coming up short. I used to be able to access Plex with no problem for years but something happened last night where I can’t get to my server anymore. I have a server running on a Synology DS918+. When I try to open the server into the webapp from the Synology page it brings me to Plex and I login, however none of my media or server settings show up. I can’t even import anything into the server, not sure what happened.
If anyone has any ideas to try, please let me know. I’ve gone through several troubleshooting articles on the plex website but am at a loss.
When I try to click the “Your Media” button in the left sidebar I’m greeted with a screen that asks me to download the Plex Media Server, even though I was just routed here by my server running on the Synology NAS.
I didn’t see any server settings, and I made a few edits to the Preferences.xml file in the File Station per the instructions below. Now I see a claim button but when I click it, I see a spinning icon for about 15 seconds and then it stops and nothing happens.
DNS issue rung a bell for me, I have had a pi-hole running on my network for some time and recently turned it off but still had my router pointing to its IP address as the primary DNS server. I never changed it back to the default so maybe a DNS problem occurred because of that. I changed it back to default and I can see the server again.
