What happens if you use app.plex.tv ?
Even if you see all ‘Unavailable’,
go on the left side all the way down to ‘More…’ and click on it.
All your servers should be listed under there.
both servers are listed, note under each ‘nearby’

can you install both in the same directory ?
No. But forget Plex 1.2.0 for now. It is only a client.
Are you using some special web browser or are you using some browser add-ons which can interfere with operation of web page? If so, disable them and repeat the “claim” procedure.
now it says “my server is currently unavailable”

is there a way to tell if the server is actual running ?
You should see the Plex icon down in the task tray, if the server is running.

If I go to roku - rarflix and have it discover servers, this one is not showing up.
I am almost out of ideas.
Please try this script, which will try the “claim” process a little bit differently and hopefully this will make the difference to finish it successfully.

Thanks for all your help, I am going to wait till tomorrow, then uninstall, delete any plex references in the register and start over using the info you have provided.

I uninstalled and deleted every reference to plex in the register.
Then I did a clean install.
I also checked to share any certificates. I can’t remember where I did it
I allowed fallback to insecure connections on same network as server
Now it is working with the following issues:
In the upper right corner it displays the server with a yellow !

Below this display is an orange B and my server (same name as above). This is the standard where you can add libraries etc.
I noticed that my other PC server is clocking even though that pc is shut down.
It is picking up my media files and works with Roku.
2 more observations. If I use app.plex.tv, it is as described above,
If I select open plex then it as it was this morning.
When checking the servers via rarflix/roku, it shows 2 servers with my name, one has an ip address, the other is http//0
