Can't claim my own server

I had some weird issues going on with my server so thought it would be a good idea to start over. I reloaded unraid from scratch and formatted all drives. I installed the Plex-Media-Server container and went through the setup. When I went to setup the server, I gave it the same name I had previously and got 2 messages. The first was “There is a problem claiming the server” and the next was “There was a problem signing in to Plex”.

I’ve been able to login and logout of plex with no issues and do have 2FA enabled. From there I went to settings in the webapp and see the server. General tab has an exclamation mark. I click the “claim server” button but it does nothing. It also says " Version 1.41.1.9057 An update is available. [Please install manually.]".

I don’t know where to go from here. Is there something wrong with my account that won’t allow me to claim the server?

Update: Fixed date/time, now I’m getting the following message: (60: SSL peer certificate or SSH remote key was not OK) (SSL certificate problem: certificate has expired)

Resolution Restarted modem/router, seems to have corrected the problem

Can you post your server logs?

Did you add a claim code to the container setup?

Good question! The claim code was different. I updated it to the new claim code but it is still showing the same behavior.

Is the container’s date/time set correctly?

It was not! GMT -8 instead of -5. I did correct it in Unraid (I’m assuming you set it there and not per container?), rebooted, got a new claim code, same error. Great catch though, thank you!

I dont use containers so I cant help there. But are you using a custom domain, or custom certificate?

Nope, just the plex container. In the past I’ve set it up, gotten the claim code, and claimed the server. I really don’t know what’s going on at the moment.

@ChuckPa Any ideas?

I did update the original post with the current error from the logs.

Update: Fixed date/time, now I’m getting the following message: (60: SSL peer certificate or SSH remote key was not OK) (SSL certificate problem: certificate has expired)

Not sure if this helps as all.

@Turrash

Where in the chain of devices, from the server machine → the modem/router do you have a certificate ? ( a self-signed on the host itself or on a proxy-device )

@ChuckPa

The unraid box connects directly to my router. I don’t have any special setups that I know of, or even really understand certificates enough. What I can do is restart the modem/router and see if that solves any problems. I think it’s the only thing that I have not done yet.

Most modem/routers have a “restart” in them after logging in.

Worst-case – Power cycle it

IT WORKED! Thank you so much for the quick replies. Restart of modem / router, now shows the server claimed to my Email address.
