I’ve had Plex installed for several years on my Ubuntu system. For some reason recently it started giving me the “No soup for you” message from the local system. I could still manage it from a different machine but the local system seemed to be hosed. Nothing I tried, including editing the Preferences.xml as noted in other posts, worked.
Finally, I uninstalled Plex and renamed the /var/lib/plexmediaserver folder to plexmediaservr.bak. I then reinstalled the latest version with dpkg -i .
Now, when I go to localhost:32400/web and try to setup the server I get the dreaded “Problem claiming this server” message. Nothing I do can make this go away or allow me to get Plex working again.
I’m fine setting it up again, it’s not that difficult but how does one get past this error message?
