Can't claim my server?

Server Version#: DS218+ DSM 7.2.2-72806 Update 1
Player Version#: 1.41.2.9200

I’m on my last nerve with Plex. Been fighting this for days with no answer. I installed the latest updates above a month ago and everything has been fine till a few days ago. Nothing has changed as far as I know. I can’t access my server using my admin profile. I could using the guest profile for some reason? So, I reset my password and now I can see my media/server but I can’t claim my server? I click the button but I get " there was a problem signing into Plex" it flashes in the right corner for a few seconds. If i keep trying to claim it, it does nothing? I’m signed into Plex. I see my profile in the corner but it won’t let me claim it? Please help!

Did you do it this way?

A ZIP of your server’s Logs folder will tell us what’s happening (network routing or DNS misbehaving)

The “Plex Claim Token” method works in a bunch of configurations because:

  1. You get a claim token from “Plex.tv/claim” – (the blue hyperlink in the form)
  2. You paste that token into the installer window
  3. The installation script uses that token to talk to Plex.tv and get you new credentials independent of networking ( provided it can talk to plex.tv ).
  4. If all is well, the post-installation message shows your Plex Usename and email as confirmation

I’ve attached my log info. I have not tried uninstalling because that is the last thing I want to do. I’ve tried the claim token thing but every time I try I get a blank box with no numbers??

Thanks for the logs.

I can immediately see what’s happening.

“Certificate has expired”.

Truth: Your certificate has not expired.

  1. Control Panel - Regional - Time
    – Make sure it’s syncronized with a NTP server (time.google.org works)

  2. Until you complete claiming, I recommend turning off Synology Quick Connect (they interject a domain name as well and can cause the “Error 60” we often see)

This did not work! My time was already synchronized with the google server. I turned off quick connect and it still won’t let claim the server!!! Please advise on what to do next?

I have completely reset your Plex certificate.

Please stop Plex.

Open FileStation,
Navigate to PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server/Cache

Delete file cert-v2.p12

Restart Plex.
It will download a fresh certificate.

Do you have your own certificate defined in DSM ?
Control Panel - Security - Certificate (tab) ?

For info purposes:

  1. You Syno LAN IP is 192.168.50.17 ?
  2. Your WAN IP begins with ‘107’ ?

There is no" cert-v2.p12" file to delete? As you can see from my screenshot. And I have a certificate. Please advise. Thanks

When does that QuickConnect certificate expire ?

Somewhere on the syno, it has an expired certificate getting in the way of basic https to Plex.tv so it can get its certificate
