Can't Claim Server on Asustor AS5304T (and also keeps saying update available)

I had a problem a while ago where my Plex library simply disappeared from view in my Plex. I have tried lots of things like uninstalling, reinstalling etc and have now got to a state where I can see the plex library on the Asustor NAS but have the following problems:

  1. Loading Plex keeps showing that the “Server is unclaimed and insecure”. Clicking anything to try and claim it, it just tries for a while but then does nothing.
  2. The Asustor Plex Library does not show in My Devices under my account.
  3. ( I guess because of above) I can’t view the Plex folder from my Samsung TV.
  4. Loading plex also consistently shows that an update is available, even if I have the very latest version installed.

I have tried the claimit.exe utility but this fails as well.

I could really do with any help anyone can give me on this please as it’s driving me mad!

This can happen when the server cannot communicate with plex.tv.

Check that the network settings, such as default gateway, DNS server, etc are correct.

Once you successfully claim the server it will appear in your list of Authorized Devices.

Work on #3 & #4 after you can claim the server.
