Cant Claim Server

Server Version#: 1.9.6.4429
Server: QNAP TS-459
Server Firmware: 4.2.6

Hi,

I have just recently moved over to plex from kodi and for the last week everything has been running smoothly except for today when I no longer can’t access plex over the internet

It is asking for me to check if the server has connection to the internet. Which is does as i can access the NAS dashboard remotely.

I have tried updating to a new version of plex, but my NAS is to old to update past current version of firmware and Plex server so that’s out of the question.

I have tried a fresh install of plex with no change either.

I tried signing out of my plex account and then back in. That was a mistake. The sign in and claim server buttons no longer work.

Logs:
Plex Media Server.log (173.7 KB)

Update:
Updated to google DNS on server with no change.

New log:
Plex Media Server1.log (173.1 KB)

Same here, I was also running an older server version (1.9.3.4290). I also made the mistake of signing out of my plex account through the UI and am also unable to sign back in and/or claim the server.

I think Plex likely changed something with the claim authentication process because it does work when I update to the latest available server version. I then rolled back to the older version and it still failed to work properly.

I had previously refused to update due to the metric collection changes and have been expecting this day to come around sooner or later. I primarily use Jellyfin now anyways and only kept Plex available to share with Apple users.

Since mine is hosted on an old school NAS, i even tried to re-install the software, that was also a mistake as it now errors on the setup screen.

Not something I’ve tested, since on a newer QTS, but could be related to the old QTS isn’t supporting newer TLS ?
