Chuck you were great. Cant believe how much time you spent with me. You are the best. Plex is lucky to have a guy like you. I cant thank you enough, thank you!
You’re very welcome.
I wish all issues were 100% successes as yours was.
I do have a soft spot when family is involved ( guess we’re all that way for our childen )
I hope I’ve give you enough to grow forward with.
Hi Chuck,
Thanks for the help before. Question for you, I cant log into my Plex remotely at all. I get message saying Offline.
Nick,
Go to Settings - Authorized Devices - Servers (dropdown) (this is in the upper left corner) of Plex/Web.
Look for the server name and see if there is a duplication.
If there is, delete the oldest one(s) and then try again
If there are none, and you are 100% certain it’s working,
- Stop the server
- Delete the server entry (don’t worry, it will come right back)
- Start the server
What this does is force Plex.tv to ignore what it knew for the server and start fresh as the server starts.
I think you skipped the part about deleting it anyway. ![]()
After you delete and restart the server,
wait a minute for PMS to finish its startup and contacting Plex.tv
Now restart the player app
Ok, deleted the server and I had to Reclaim it and redo my sharing options. But still getting same error, crazy
Grab the log files for me please. It’s time to get serious.
Here it is, thanks.Logs.zip (2.8 MB)
Nick, are you sure the server has internet access?

EDIT: I had a thought. Do you have DNS Rebinding Protection in your Modem/Router? It’s the other thing which would block this.
If you do have it, create an exception rule to allow private domain - plex.direct
I dont see DNS Rebinding anywhere on my router. I have a Linksys EA9500 router. I have the QNAP using DHCP Reservation though. I set that up with Linksys a while ago because Remote access for Plex needed Port Forwarding to work. But the remote access always was spotty anyway. If I go to Plex.com on my computer that is hard wired I can see the server and watch all movies. I tried to watch today at my job using Plex app on my Ipad and I got the server error. I came home and tried Plex on my Galaxy S10 android phone using just my Tmobile Phone service and also got server error. When I turn on WIFI on my Galaxy S10 and connect to my network I can see server and watch movies.
Plex.com is not Plex.tv
Plex.com is a completely different and non-related firm.
Since you have devices which do work and some that don’t,
Have you, although it is a bit of pain, to uninstall and reinstall the app?
Doing that does reset all the UUID info which it needs to connect.
Of course, sorry yes Plex.tv, not Plex.com. No, I will try that too, thanks.
