Cant connect to Plex (QNAP) Can I downgrade Firmware?

Ok, will try what you told me to do. Should I Stop Plex and restart it when done?

After Plex is running again, and the metadata has completely refreshed itself,

you’re back to normal and can do anything you want.

There’s no requirement to restart but you can if you want for “Peace of Mind” sake

for #2, you said Copy com.plexapp… (make a duplicate) how do I make a duplicate?

copy then paste (rename).

File Station renames (deconflicts) as it does

If you want, copy it to a new folder too and rename it there. totally your choice.

Think of the Ctrl-C / Ctrl-V in windows / Linux / Mac , you get a ‘(2)’ file.

ok, then rename the duplicate I just made to what you said in #3 correct?

Correct

Plex looks for a file named com.plexapp.plugins.library.db

Ok, here goes

same thing, crap

I see this popping up too Screen Shot 2020-07-30 at 9.03.17 PM

any idea?

that message is a bad password on your part.

What you think the password is and what QTS thinks it is are two different things.

That may be part of what’s happening.

You need some QNAP teamviewer help at this point.

((Sorry for delay… mandatory reboot after software update))

Actually, they did a Teamviewer Remote session today. They said all is ok with the QNAP. And they asked me to contact you for help because Plex is not their app

Does that have anything to do with this? Or is this something else?

likely something else.

Check your PM

What is PM?

This is really frustrating. Ive been dealing with this for 2 days straight. Almost all day both days. This has to work somehow

I paid for lifetime membership. And now I cant even use features I paid for

Upper right corner of this forum. Look for the green dot.

That’s where private messages are located.

I sent you one

I will get you working again.

As closure for all reading here,

  1. The system had suffered a failure which compromised the databases
  2. With a little help in PM, we worked through finding a good database (older backup)
  3. With that database in place, restarted Plex and all was fine.
4… PlexData share now available from the desktop computer as well.
