Can't connect to Plex Server

Server Version#: 1.18.4.2171
Player Version#: 4.18.1
macOS: 10.14.6
Safari version: 13.0.4

Hi - I’m hoping the Plex team or someone can help with a problem I am having connecting to PMS from my Synology 418play NAS.

When I am logged into DSM from the Safari Browser and click on PMS, a new Safari webpage open and states, “Safari Can’t Connect to Server” followed by “Safari can’t open the page 71.xxx.xxx.xxx:32400/web because Safari can’t connect to the server 71.xxx.xxx.xxx”.

I was able to after reading the forums to finally access PMS by using Safari and typing in “http://192.xxx.x.xx:32400”.

My question is should this matter? Should I be able to access my PMS using either ip address? Or is it sufficient that I can access it when on my LAN using the 192 ip address?

Appreciate any help and let me know what additional information might be needed.

Thanks,
litaps

When on your LAN, always use the LAN IP. It will always be faster and less restricted. It also won’t consume your internet bandwidth.

The easiest / best thing I’ve found to do is make a bookmark in the browser for it

Thanks so much.
