Can't connect to second server

Hi,

I’ve got a second PMS that I’m trying to connect to, through my Samsung TV. It can find the server (add PMS), it shows all media onn Deck. I can even open media, change language, change sound, etc. But when I try to play it, it doesn’t work. It says, that it can’t connect to the content server.

Can anyone help me with this?

Is this your server located in your house, or is it in a different location? Can you download the server logs for that one and post them here for review?

I don’t really now what server logs? All Loging has been turned off. And do you mean the PMS logs, or the logs of the OS? I actually wouldn’t know how to get to the PMS logs. Haven’t tried it before…

But maybe som extra input would be handy.

My primary server is a NAS (freenas) at my home. It isn’t open to a connection from outside. I have a couple of wired Samsung smart TV’s, a tablet, two smartphones, and a laptop. They work perfectly in my home.

Further I have a TAN VPN Sever in my home to two extra houses, where I have a couple of wired Samsung smart TV’s. In those other homes there are also small desktop based servers running a PMS in Windows. Those have different logins, but are added to my “home” plex pass account. The problem is with the app’s on the smart TV’s in these homes. This wasn’t a problem a couple of weeks ago.

As I already mentioned, this doesn’t work any more. Not when I’m logged in the primary account, and not when I use the other/secondary PMS login’s in the Samsung PLEX app. I can however view my media on my tablet and my laptop when using wifi in those other homes, and on the TV’s I can see the media, but the Samsung app’s start loading and then give the message that they can’t connect to the media.

And with media I mean everything. Even a picture (166 Kb) of my kid. So I can see the small thumbnail picture, but it can’t connect to te original… ? So the problem here isn’t delays in playback/transcoding.

This doesn’t make sense. If these other computers have a different Plex login, you can’t add it to your Plex account. They get added to the account that is logged in. Use the same Plex login for all instances of PMS.

I don’t really understand what you mean. Maybe the problem here is that I build a system, adding things over time, and it needs an overhaul ?

All three homes have a PMS (freenas or windows computer). Those all have their owne “friendly” name and corresponding login. The Samsung app’s normaly use the login that corresponds with the home/PMS they are near (same building).

All these login’s used to be friends of the primary PLEX account and shared it’s media. About two months ago I added them to the primary PLEX account (HS33-PLEX), and they show as different users at login. So you can pick the account when you start the app.

When I pick a login (doesn’t matter which one) the multiple servers show (you can pick them from the dropdown menu) and they show the media that belongs to that server. But as I already wrote, it can’t connect.
