yeah! plex is great when it works, luckily most of the time, but the choice of not having a true customer service with support tickets makes it maddening when you’re stuck. anyway… i solved my issue, there were some old servers, now inactive, in my account. I removed them and everything worked. I would easily pay the cost of a lifetime plexpass every year for customer support…

I had this issue recently as well, after setting up a Plex server on a remote hosted server. For some reason it added two servers, one being unable to connect. I didn’t think anything about it until I was trying to add a shared library to a user on my LOCAL server. I kept seeing that ridiculous “unexpected error” screen no matter what user I selected. I found this forum post and upon removing the server that it couldn’t connect to it was fixed and I was able to share libraries again.
I feel like this is a bug. Absolutely NOTHING in Plex’s operation should hinge on ALL servers being accessible to the point of failing wholesale like that if only one is down.
Also happening to me after an upgrade of a previously working implementation. I don’t have another plex server associated with my account so I have nothing to remove. Not sure what I can do here.
Never mind, had to do it from the plex.tv interface instead of the local, directly connected interface.
