Can you point me in the right direction. I’m trying to download content from my Plex server onto my son’s Android tablet. but I always get “There was an error downloading this file. Swipe to remove or tap to retry”.
In early 2022 I managed to download all his content at a reduced quality. Worked fine.
Then all the downloads disappeared and I can no longer download.
I am a Plex Pass user.
Synology NAS - version 1.30.0.6442.6000
Android tablet - version 9.13.1.37459 (39e89c99)
I’ve tried this on various android tablets I have the latest one running Android 13.
I’m struggling to follow the conversations on the support forums. All very technical.
I see an error. Looks like you are trying to save to external storage (i.e. the sd card). That correct? Might be having issues writing to that card. Are you able to save anything else to that card outside of Plex? Have you tried Downloading something to the internal storage just to check?
Ok, thanks. The other possibility for that error is that the app is not getting any data from your server so it’s just timing out not writing anything. I’ll keep reviewing your logs to see if I can spot anything useful to help diagnose the cause.
The Android app contains a workaround for the “DNS rebinding protection” issue, but only when streaming.
Downloads on the other hand still are failing if your router is (mis-)applying this protection.
