Can't find "server" in web app

Server Version#: 1.21.1.3830

Ok, I have the lifetime pass and can’t find the “server” section. Plex is installed and running on my Synology DS716+ but no server settings are to be found anywhere.

Am I missing something critical? I’ve clicked and searched for hours.

Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

  1. Are you trying to to access it from a remote location (not the same LAN) ?
  2. Are you on a different subnet ?
  3. What is the IP of the Syno and IP of your computer you’re accessing with?

If possible, grab the contents of the Logs directory, in a ZIP file, from the Plex share.

  3. Computer is 172.13.77.147 and Plex is 172.13.77.77

Nothing fancy going on here. Just trying to have 172.13.77.77:32400/web/ show server settings.

The server IS in the devices list. I’ve attached the log.

Thanks for the log file.

By “remote location”, I was referring to using something like the Synology remote desktop. Those “remote” location accesses don’t work because the remote address is forwarded by the Syno.

What I’m seeing in your logs is good.

Next step in clearing this up.

  1. Stop Plex on the Syno
  2. https://app.plex.tv
  3. Settings - Authorized Devices - Server (the dropdown)
  4. Look for this server.
  5. If there are any instances, delete them. They will return in a moment.
  6. Sign out of Plex.tv (upper right corner of the browser window – in the Avatar circle)
  7. Close the tab & open a new one
  8. Start PMS and give it about 30 seconds to come up and stabilize
  9. Open it by IP ( htttp://ip.addr.of.syno:32400/web )
  10. It may want you to sign in and get ownership sorted.
  11. If it does, remember your library sections are still there so don’t recreate anything.

Since I didn’t have any Files added yet, I just wiped everything out by uninstalling Plex Server and deleting the Plex folder from the Synology device. I also removed any instance of it on plex.tv then did a fresh install. All is working now, thanks!!
