Can't see my Server under Settings

Hi,

I just started using Plex again.

The Server I run ist a Synology DS0918+.
I got the newest Plex Media Server for 64bit.
The Installation was easy and I give Permission to the Plex internal User.

So I open my Browser and geht on myserverip:3200/web.

On the left Side there is “your Media”. Here I find a message to get “Plex Media Server”. Strange…
Under Setting there isn’t a Point for my Server.

I tried to reinstall the Server and even delete my Plex Account and open a new one.

But nothing helped. I am clueless where to start.

Maybe one of you have an hint for me.

When did you last use Plex?
Which version of DSM is on your NAS
Do you have a “Plex” shared folder with Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server in it?

Which version of PMS is currently installed?

I think last time I used it, is like 3 years ago.

My DSM version is 7.1.

The Server ist version 1.28.0.5999-7000.

I have an Plex App Data Folger on the NAS. Here I can finde Logs and more. The Permission Tab show me Plex with read and write.

Please be specific here –

Plex/Library/Application Support exists
-and-
Does it contain “Plex Media Server”

??

I know you got "PlexMediaServer/AppData/PlexMediaServer when the DSM 7 app installed.

I’m trying to establish if you got an empty server (which it sounds like),
when you automatically updated the app from DSM 6 → DSM 7

-OR-

Had you previously erased all of Plex and are installing fresh?

I have tried to erase all Data start from the scratch.

I can’t find any Direction /Plex/Library/Application Support

I looked at your account.
There are no active servers listed.

To accomplish what you’re wanting to accomplish.

  1. Uninstall the current DSM 7 package with the ERASE option
This allows us to start over.

  2. Manual Install again –
    – Choose the Plex Claim Token option
    – Click “Get Plex Claim Token” hyperlink.
    – Your browser will open to plex.tv and show you a claim-xxxxx token.
    – COPY it (into your browser)
    – Return to the installer
    – PASTE the claim token into the window.
    – Now click NEXT NEXT NEXT and allow PMS to complete installing.

  3. It will take a little longer than normal to install the package.
This happens because the installer is communicating with Plex.tv for you to get proper credentials and claim the server for you.

  4. When installation is complete, THIS ONE TIME ONLY, Open the Syno using it’s numeric IP address (http://ip.addr.of.syno:32400/web)

  5. You’ll be prompted to complete the “Got It” and sign in.

  6. The setup wizard will now start

Thanks a lot!!

But it didn’t work for me.

I get the message that the server claim work.

But when I go the http://ip.addr.of.syno:32400/web I see the “got it” message. The wizard did not start. Under Settings I can’t see my Server.

I checked if Plex/Library/Application Support appear. But it didn’t.

I have tried something other.
I install PMS version 1.28.0.5999-97678ded3 on my Mac.

But same thing here. I can not see my Server. The Browser now open http://127.0.0.1:32400.
When I click on the Plex Icon in my menu bar and go to “Preferences”, there is a message with " Not authorized. You do not have access to this server"

Done some more Tests!

I have installed Plex on my AppleTV 4k. After I signed in with my Account, I can See both Server. Synology and my Mac. But there are both not reachable.

@v_i2

I have looked at your plex.tv account.

You only have a Synology server listed
That server was last seen yesterday.

There are no entries (pending, current, or deleted) for a Mac server.
Is it claimed?

i am not sure how I can claim the Mac.

The Synology is still noch reachable :frowning:

@v_i2

Stop Plex on the Syno

  1. Open FileStation
  2. Navigate to PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server
  3. Right-click LogsCompress to Logs.zip
  4. Download the file and attach it here.

I will look at what’s happening

Thank you.

Your LAN network addressing is all wrong.

The adapter’s address is 100.100.10.2.

Aug 03, 2022 10:00:02.347 [0x7fb4d76a9380] DEBUG - NetworkInterface: Notified of network changed (force=0)
Aug 03, 2022 10:00:02.348 [0x7fb4d76a9380] DEBUG - Detected primary interface: 100.100.10.2

This is in a CGNAT address space.

Is this your LAN or is the machine connected directly to the internet ?

If this is your LAN, you must fix the entire LAN to be RFC-1918 compliant

Choices are:

  1. 192.168.x.x
  2. 10.x.x.x
  3. 172.16.x.x → 172.31.x.x

ok, i See. I need to fix it. Nothing else has any Problem with this addresses.

I tried to fix it next week.

i have changed the IPs. And installed PMS again with a Claim-Token.
I also delete my “old” Server of the Device List.

Now I can See my Synology Server. Seems to be ok. I will do more Test with my Mac

Thank you!
