Running windows 10. The plex web app (accessed via local, IP, and toolbar icon) can’t find the PMS installed on the same PC. I’ve tried every version back to 1.8.1. Clean installs: appdata removed, reboots, etc.
What am I missing?

I’m also having problems with the latest PMS on Windows 10.
On another computer running Win7, ver 1.10.0.4523 -I disabled latest updates for this very reason.
Anyone have a fix for Windows 10?
Try this:
Other browsers (firefox, edge, opera) aren’t working, and no one else has a plex account in my house. Thanks for the Reg file, but the plex app/webpage still has “looking for servers…” spinning forever.
Paste this into the address bar of Windows file explorer, then press Enter
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server\Logs
zip up the whole folder and its contents and attach it here for analysis.
After upgrading to Plex Pass, I upgraded to V 1.12.3.4973-215c28d86 and now the web app can’t find the server…which is installed on the same Windows 7 / SP1 PC that the web app is on.
It worked fine when I was running v0.9.1101. I actually uninstalled the old version and re-installed v 1.12 fresh and then rebooted but it still cannot find the Server.
It appears that the PC shows up as a Chrome Device under devices.
I do not see any options for claiming the server either.
Not really happy about all this but would appreciate some real help. There are no answers I can find after wasting over an hour on the forums.
I checked all the stuff on the forums so need another option on why this would work on the older version and not on the new one.
Thanks

It is answered above.
Your web browser is signed into a different plex.tv account than what the server is signed in. You must bring these two into the same account.
Here is how: https://support.plex.tv/articles/204281528-why-am-i-locked-out-of-server-settings-and-how-do-i-get-in/
@OttoKerner - I don’t recall seeing that link before but IT WORKED, so I’m grateful.
Now to try some of that DVR goodness
Thanks!
Same here - I’ve been getting this ever since the Plex Pass popup started appearing every time I opened Plex. Bizarrely, I can connect from my Samsung Smart TVs, but not from a PC
Just posting to say my problem was indeed caused by being logged in as a different account, as per @OttoKerner’s answer. No idea how this happened - everything was working fine, then literally as I was watching an episode of a TV program, I went to skip to next episode and ALL devices including smart TVs stopped working (unable to find server) for a number of days; then Smart TVs started working again for no obvious reason, then finally I found PCs were logging in with an old account
For the love of… that was totally my problem. I had to sign into a different third-party account. Thank you.
