Can't get in server settings after plex reinstallation

Hey guys,

I had a XPEnology running but unfortunately my system board crashed.
I decided to buy original Synology and bought DS218play.
I didn’t check the issue with ARMv8 (should have simply checked device list), so my PMS was no longer running.
It was still there as my DSM was “migrated”.
So I uninstalled it and deleted all the data and decided to use KODI instead.
But since some days the alpha for testing is available and now I’m very happy.
I installed it and locked in, but server is not found, so I checked this:
https://support.plex.tv/articles/204604227-why-can-t-the-plex-app-find-or-connect-to-my-plex-media-server/
and this:
https://support.plex.tv/articles/204281528-why-am-i-locked-out-of-server-settings-and-how-do-i-get-in/

Unfortunately there is nothing in my Preferences.xml that could be deleted and also I have no chance to run a local browser on my Synology DSM (as far as I know) to try access via http://localhost

I think there must be a way to get to the settings, I mean all Plex data was deleted, so from where the PMS knows that it should redirect my login? Anyway I appreciate any idea what I can do to get into the server settings and setup PMS again for a proper authentication!

I’m on DSM 6.2-23739 Update 2 with PMS 1.13.6.176-dd1845234.
When I check the log I see this as only error entries, directly after startup:

Thanks in advance for your support!

Same situation, nothing changes.
When starting, PMS is simply creating the same Preferences.xml again.
I will follow the Q7 FAQ as soon as I find the time, hopefully tomorrow an keep this post updated.

Thanks for your support!

Hey Trumpy, I did both.

  1. complete reinstallation, still redirected to login page on plex.tv
  2. what you wrote after my last post and that worked.
Important here was really to use the IP not the FQDN of the Synology.
I got also that login page, but I saw a little link in the bottom right corner of the page “What’s this?” and I clicked this link which gave me the option to skip the login and after that skip I came to the PMS setup wizzard. There I added my libraries and it scanned everything. Afterward I was able to add the PMS in the setting again to my plex.tv account!

So thank you so much for your support and for your fast answers, which was much faster then mine

You made my day!
