I’ve seen other posts about this on here, since closed, regarding the same issue. I’ve tried the “turn the setting off, wait, and turn it back on” several times. I haven’t received an email from Plex aside from things I’ve prompted myself (like a password recovery email, etc) in years, in the life of my Plex accounts.
I’m just wondering what I need to do to fix this or if somebody can manually toggle the account variable for me or something. I’ve checked spam, I’ve checked filters, I’ve done all of the typical “email troubleshooting” steps. As far as I can tell they simply aren’t being sent, regardless of my account setting.
If anybody has any advice it would be appreciated. Sorry if this isn’t the correct place to post this, but it’s where I found all the other topics related to this so I figured I’d just go for it.
Thank you. I’m not sure either, and I tried from multiple computers - the main one the server is installed on (a dedicated machine), my main gaming desktop, even my phone. Nothing is behind a VPN or proxy or anything of the sort. Weird.
DNS has nothing to do with the ability to receive mails from Plex. At least if you can receive other mails regularly.
The mail system shows several attempts from your account to unsubscribe from newsletters and back on.
Inbetween that and today, there haven’t been any regular mailings going out.
But there will be one next week, I’m told. So look out for this.
(If you expected to see regular offers to buy Plex Pass at a discount: these mails only go out to a small group of users, based on some changing filter criteria, which marketing decides on.)
I appreciate the help. I assumed the Plex pass offers were sent to people using some formula to determine who would be most likely to not buy a Plex pass without an offer; why give somebody that’d buy it anyways a discount? Honestly, it just became a nitpicky thing for me - I’d done everything I could and anything listed in other support posts and still couldn’t get the newsletter and I just had to figure out why.
