Can't run plex on synology & it wont re-install on DSM6

PMS installed: Part of the problem(see below)
Synology NAS is a DS1515+
It is running the DSM 6.2.4-25556 Update 2

After moving the Synology there was a problem and the Volume was lost but then rebuilt and appeared to work; however the plex stopped working, running it gave errors,
Plex Media Server: The Plex ‘tmp_transcoding’ directory was missing. Attempts to recreate it failed. Please repair manually or ask in our Support Forums.

I attempted to uninstall and re-install PMS on / through the ‘all packages’ section of synology package centre, and also afterwards the version 1.24.5.5173-6000 manually (ive updated plex many times this way previously for the newest version). I restarted the synology between each attempt, I also tired removing the ‘plex’ folder and user.

I currently get this error if I try to run it (it says error and the ‘repair button’ also doesn’t work): Plex Media Server: The Plex share could not be found. Please check your configuration, reinstall Plex, or ask in our Support Forums.

I access the synology through a mac and have never had to do anything complicated with it before (ive been using it for years) but im a bit of a novice at any back end / more complicated aspects but will follow any instruction or other pages that may be relevant to fix it. I have read through some of the forums and not found any answers, I do not have access to a plex share folder or logs.

I have tried to also Remove the Plex package
2. Control Panel → Users - Delete user Plex
3. Control Panel → Shared Folders - Delete the Plex share (no longer there to do this)
4. Restart DSM

But I still have the same error.

A fresh install and to get it working again is my aim, media is in a separate ‘video’ folder and safe.

  • I’ve not tried DSM7 as Ive a USB DTV which i believe would loose functionality - but would upgrading work to fix and get plax working again?

I would appreciate any help anyone can provide to me.
