Can't sign in on Roku. Your credentials have expired

Did you get what is needed from me?

Hang in folks. Thanks to the logs (from the roku itself) which you get without using the app (uses your browser) and is listed at the bottom of the Roku Logs procedure… the devs see what happened.

It’s being fixed as you read this. I’ll report back as soon as they inform me.

@mjmellin I got your PM… what I needed were the actual web-browser logs (what the roku will return to any browser for any app).

I got one from another user and that confirmed what the devs are seeing.

Now it seems to be working again. They must have found something.

@ChuckPa Please be so kind as to share with us what Roku did to cause this after the Genius Plex Devs fix it. Nerds want to know.

Confirmed!! Working for me now.

Splendid Work Plex Crew - that was a heck of a turn around.

ALL: Correction applied & bug fixed.

Please go to your Roku and ‘re-link’ (follow the prompts) as you would the first time. All will be good again.

Sorry for the ooops.

re-link… you mean enter the code again? I’ve done that a hundred times. This isn’t an answer.

Plex devs have resolved the error. You will be able to link now with no issue.

Get me your Roku logs please. Let’s find out why your Roku is being stubborn.

I’ll try it again in a bit, the kids are watching sesame street episode on another app on the roku right now. Try telling a 3 year old to be patient and wait for the problem to be fixed. Who knew those episodes were nearly an hour long. I guess I do now.

I can confirm y’all did good. It’s up and running again. Thanks for rocking out a solution so fast.

I’m having this problem on my Roku stick as well… I thought my old Roku (model 2500X) wasn’t affected, but when I went to watch just now it said it didn’t have a secure connection to my server (on the same network), and I had to use an insecure connection to get it working (never had that problem before.)

I also noticed on my plex android app, my server doesn’t have the green lock icon indicating secure connection (again, same network).

Could these problems all be connected?

I only know there was an update plex.tv. During that update, something did not go right. The devs were right on top of it and corrected it.

As part of the correction, those effected roku devices needed to ‘pin’ (www.plex.tv/pin) again as instructed by the roku. Following ‘pinning’, all functionality was restored as normal.

If this impacted other devices, it was not known at the time. The best next step would be to perform the equivalent procedure for any other device and, if failing, collect device logs for reporting here.

Just purchased a new Roku 3 and the link code for Plex is always expiring after 3 seconds which is not enough time to enter it the link. My older Roku had no issues at all. From the previous notes in this discussion I get the impression that this issue was supposedly fixed…but apparently it is not. All other Roku channels and services are flawless and only Plex is a problem for me. Ironically, the Plex service is the very reason I updated to the new Roku 3. :frowning: Any suggestions???

I will ask someone to check the ‘link’ page and get right back to you

We are aware of issues that can affect app linking and we are actively investigating. Apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

I’m having the same problem but to further the issue if I try to re-enter my credentials the Plex code has expired refresh and try again appears in less than one second nowhere near enough time

Ok now my plex is 100% unreachable in every way…

PLEASE hang in a bit… The Operations team has the site in maintenance mode while they diagnose and fix it. HOPEFULLY, it won’t take much longer.
