Cant Update Library

Movies Library wont update with new movies and I can’t edit it at all. Just sits there with the language unable to be toggled, other movies highlighted, and the “next” button greyed out. No idea how this happened, but it is infuriating and this is the absolute WORST way to get a resolution on it for a paid for product.

Help please.

This means that the agent of this library has been switched to “Personal Media”.
And since personal media cannot be matched to titles on metadata websites automatically, a language selector doesn’t make sense and is therefore disabled.

You can switch the agent on the Advanced tab.

Make sure to use a non-blocking web browser (i.e. Firefox, Chrome, or Edge without any blocker add-ins).

On the Advanced tab, when you edit the library.

That doesn’t even show up, only the General at the top.

Do you see your server’s properties in the lower part of the side bar, when you enter the Settings dialogue?

I only use Chrome. Unknown if I have a blocker add in …

Put it into “incognito” mode and see if it behaves differently.

Nope no different even via the web. But I did just install Trend on my PC, let me see if that has an add blocker.

A 3rd-party anti virus app frequently causes issues.

(plus, it’s completely pointless, but that is just my personal opinion)

Gotcha, but I am not super-good with computers … so better safe than sorry. Even Trend turned off … same thing.

Is this the only library where this happens?

Do you let your computer enter the suspend/hibernate state when its not in use?
When did you last time perform a full machine reboot?

Nope, seems to be all of them. Only other change I made recently was a TV Adaptor so I could start recording over-the-air stuff to take full advantage of the Plex. That seems to be recording appropriately.

Did you deny Plex access to the internet?
Do you have an additional internet filter somewhere in your home network?
How much free space is left on drive C: ?

How would I deny Plex access to the internet?

Firewall setting, anti virus setting, filter list in the router etc.
There are quite a few which can possibly do that.

But if you cannot remember doing that consciously, then it’s probably not the cause of the issues.
