I just noticed from my web application that it thinks that my Plex sever on my Nvidia Shield is still running Version 1.18.2.2058 which it is in fact running 1.21.1.3830. Any ideas?
For me Plex Media Server works, but not using the Plex client on the SHIELD itself. I am able to use the PMS on the SHIELD from my PC. Is there a way to fix this? It’s super annoying not being able to use PLEX on the TV - and casting from the PC to the SHIELD seems super dumb.

Errrrrr I have tried everything listed it this thread and still not upgrading the Plex Server - I even did a Full Reset and Full Format, Then Full Shut down and pulled Power for 30 minutes and the Plex Server is still not Updating (Just the circle going round and round).
Note: I have Gigabit Internet, So Internet Speed isn’t the problem
Also Plex Server was working just fine until this Update Problem 
Do not try updating from Plex Web, that won’t work. Yo update PMS you need to do it from the Google Play Store. Sometime the Play Store on the shield has old info and does not show the latest version. Try accessing the play store from a web browser an push the update to your Shield.
Even with the last version, the plex player do not work.
This is also true on NAS devices, like my Synology. But if you click on the “update” button at least the DL is triggered so you can install it manually. Maybe on the Shield the button should redirect to the Play Store so users avoid some confusion? Or just not have a button at all, just a notice to update from the Play Store.
I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty fed up with updating. I can’t think of that last time an update actually worked without an issue. Seems like I have to completely reset the Shield to factory and start everything from scratch.
As soon as Amazon updates their Recast to the new ATSC 3.0 standard, the Shield is going on Craigslist. Just not worth the hassle.
I’ve never had to reset my Shield due to a Plex update.
Yes, I should have been more specific about my comment - it’s usually a Shield update that breaks Plex. But on the flip side, all my other apps seem to handle a Shield update w/o issues.
So still frustrated. 
I had to update the Plex App and Media Server using the google play store on the shield - they were both showing that an update was available. I then had to uninstall and re-install the Plex Player app on both my android phone and Firestick before it would work.

I don’t see how you updated in Play Store if this is the latest version showing…
Sometimes the playstore app is slow to update what the newest version is. Check the play store using a web browser and push the update to the Shield.
