Cast/crew bug?

Player Version#: IOS (8.41)

I’m assuming this is a big - it’s the same issue on Apple TV and iPhone (didn’t check iPad).

After using search for a movie, then selecting the movie and clicking on one of the cast/crew photos, the app doesn’t do anything (like where it would normally open the information page for the cast/crew person and show their other movies, etc.)

Note that clicking the Cast/Crew option to view the entire list does work (and you can view cast/crew details from that page without issues).

Navigating to the movie without using search and it works as expected.

Same issue exhibited in Apple TV.

I’ve just tested this but failed to reproduce your issue. Does it persist if you force-quit the app and restart it?
Do you experience this issue with media from your own or a shared server?

It persists…just testing on Apple TV with these steps (after closing the app/starting over):

  1. From Home tab, arrow up and select search
  2. Type “adda”
  3. Navigate over to select “The Addams Family” (from my server)
  4. Once the movie details page opens, select any of the cast pictures - the button doesn’t do anything (although the cast picture briefly “flashes”).

Also on Apple TV, opening the “View All” page and trying to select a cast member from there doesn’t do anything either. However, on IOS, using the full Cast and Crew page does work properly - you can bring up details from that page.

Just got home and tested this with my Apple TV. Same version, same steps, but I’m failing again to reproduce this behavior.

On what version of tvOS are you running the Apple TV?

As @tom80H replied this works fine on my setup also. ATV (2022), TvOS 18.

So I don’t understand what could be the issue.

I’m away from my Apple TV for a bit, but pretty sure it’s on 18.

Also have the same issue on my iPhone - running 18.1
