I have just bought a new Synology DS918+ to migrate Plex Server from My PC to this new NAS.
I am gradually “optimising” all my media on my old Server and moving across the “Optimised for TV” versions of all my media in batches. I am doing this as although my NAS has some transcoding ability I want toi eliminate this as much as possible.
Everything is working fine… I can play my media on any of my android phones or tablets. I can play my media on my Samsung smart tv using the App. I can play the media on my PC using the web client and i can cast from the webclient on my laptop to any of my chromecasts in the house…
However i cannot seem to cast from any of the android devices to any of the chromecasts… and ive been scratching my head on this one for too long now so would appreciate any suggestions and help anyone can give.
If I try to cast from my android phone to my chromecast I get a grey plex screen with the title “Loading” and the line “Playback will begin in a moment” then after a couple of minutes this changes to “Sorry” “Something went wrong”
Any help on how i can trouble shoot this would be gratefully received. thanks
