I have this same issue also casting from iOS to my nvidia shield. Exact same piece of media it’ll cut out at the same point unless I close the app immediately after casting. I’ve not tried leaving the phone to go into standby yet

Same issue for months now! People on reddit also seem to have had the same issue, no reply from Plex.

I messaged him back in November… never even bothered to reply…

I am also having this issue. I am so heavily invested in chromecast, I love them and I wish they would just work like they have been for years. Shame on Plex for ignoring all of its users…

Same problem here. I just switched from Pixel to iPhone 12. This is definitely an issue with the iOS app. The Android cast worked perfectly and other iOS apps cast just fine. Wouldn’t hold your breath on support from Plex. They only chime in when there’s a problem they can blame on your server setup…

Same here. After 30 seconds the casting disconnects and returns to the chromecast slideshow. Interestingly it doesn’t matter if I skip forward 30s, after 30s (now 1 minute into the stream) it still disconnects, which leads me to believe the app is either doing something or has a timer for 30s.
