I would really like this feature to be enabled soon as well. If you support Live TV casting to other devices, it should be a simple thing to leverage the transcoder in the Plex server to cast the stream to a device supporting Google Cast. I would have expected this to be one of the first platforms supported actually.

So, since it didnā€™t work with Chromecast I had just assumed it wouldnā€™t work with my Firestick. But, you was rearranging wires and AV equipment and saw my long forgotten Firestick behind the TV and gave it a shot. I totally forgot that those things are basically little Android installations. I installed PLEX and signed in. Live TV works great, even when ā€œcastā€ to the Firestick from my phone, (Android phone). So, since you can cast to a Firestick any content you normally cast to a Chromecast, (thank you for that Google!), now we use the Firestick almost exclusively. I can either use my PLEX app on my phone to browse around, or I can use the Firestick remote app to control the PLEX app on the TV. Either way works fine.

So, even though there are other ways to get live TV to a TV, and there are many valid methods, the fact that actual Chromecast support isnā€™t implemented yet, but PLEX is rolling out all this other streaming service integration trash, makes me very concerned. The devs at PLEX owe us this seemingly simple ā€œfeatureā€ for the exorbitant fee weā€™ve paid for our lifetime subscriptions. I would rather be able to just use my Chromecasts, rather than having to use Amazonā€™s ecosystem.

Come on PLEX
now you have to fix the Cromecast issue of casting Live TV. We are all in the same boat.
Invested in HDHomerun, Nvida Shield Pro and Lifetime PLEX PASS. Just to realize that
Live TV isnā€™t supported ā€œyetā€.

iā€™m using emby, but would like to use plex better, this featured should be implemented months ago

Iā€™ll add to the request as well. I have just started using Plex (itā€™s great!) and assumed Live TV to my Chromecast would be no big deal, but I see this is almost 1.5 years in the making and still no solution. I hope soon!
