I got the email like all of us that there was a data leak so I updated my password. But that disconnected my server and I can’t seem to get Plex Media Server to open, it just runs in the background. There’s also no server settings accessible in the Plex App or Plex Web App. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I’ve tried multiple forum recommendations but either they’re dated and no longer functional or it’s user error on my part. I’m at a loss and can’t figure out how to get this fixed, I really really really don’t want to have to reimport, rebuild and reorganize a new Plex server, please help, any advice is appreciated.
***Latest Update: Pretty sure I lost my server and library just now, removed the server from Authorized Devices in the hopes it would make me sign in and then allow me to connect/claim my server. Now I see no signs of it, assuming my old server is gone for good. Not sure if I will rebuild, this has be a bigger headache than it’s worth maybe.
Are you accessing web app via http://127.0.0.1:32400/web on the machine it is installed? Have you restarted your server ( without uninstall/reinstall)?
Double checked and did a restart. No improvements, same results. “No Content Available” and “Not Authorized” screens appear and send me back and forth with no effect.
which browser are you using? after going to web app can you do a hard refresh in browser
I am having the exact same issue. I panicked a little after I got the error message. Any help would be appreciated.
Same for me as well using QNAP server. Started and restarted server but keep getting told cannot securely access the server.
I’ll probably get roasted for this, I’m using Microsoft Edge rn
are you actually on the machine the server is installed on?
If on one machine and the server is on another like a NAS you may can try doing an SSH Tunnel .
there is some info towards the bottom of this article.

Yes, on the same machine, all of this worked fine before the password change.
I made an attempt but I don’t think it worked. Trying it again but it’s fairly complex, or at least more advanced than I am. Stuck trying to find the HKEY folder.
I’m on Windows 11 Pro if that makes a difference, the links to Windows registry don’t mention that OS.
** Update: Found the HKEY folder by opening the Registry Editor, deleted the suggested files. Restarted the machine, ran PMS but still no fix.
Resolved by accessing server via IP address. Then clicked on a show and it asked me to reclaim the server.
No problems now.
I’m having the same issue. I also got the email and changed my password tried logging into plex via AppleTV with my email address and it couldn’t find the session so I logged out and tried logging in using Apple and then all my media played without any issues. I tried logging with my email again and couldn’t play the content.
Can you tell me how to access my server via IP address? I’d like to attempt this fix. Thanks in advance.
Use a private / incognito browser window. This bypasses browser plugins which may interfere with claiming.
The IP address is displayed in Windows Settings → Network & Internet → Properties.
For example, if the IP address is 10.1.2.3, use http://10.1.2.3:32400/web.
If you are on the server itself, you can also use http://127.0.0.1:32400/web, or right click on the Plex icon in the taskbar.

Had you signed out of the server? I tried it while still signed in and it didn’t work, but when I signed out and retried it worked.
I have signed out, many times now, going to give it one more try and then I have to call it quits for the night. Glad to hear you got yours worked out.

Thanks so much for that help. Unfortunately, I’m getting the same results and am still unable to connect to my server.
