Husband using chromebook app to watch item (movie) from our PMS library (desktop server unit, win 10) getting adverts created by plex (not in movie file).
I am admin, he is home network user I setup in my account.
Plays 3 adverts at a time, had two lots over approx 30 mins so far. Cannot skip or close them.
I didn’t read the small print but I certainly didn’t expect ads on a paid subscription service?
Plex Movies and TV is ad supported - no way to remove those and the content will ‘appear’ to be from your library, but it is not. You can remove all possibilities of seeing ads in Plex Movies and TV, by disabling Plex Movies and TV in Settings/Online Media Sources. If your Husband is a ‘managed user’ you can disable for him, if not he’ll have to disable it himself.
Chromebook may be adding advertisements - I really don’t know - but Plex isn’t adding advertisements to your media - that I do know.
My misunderstanding… Husband told me it was from OUR library but on further interrogation it would appear that is not the case which would explain why he’s getting ads.
