Chromecast not working in 1.3.4.3285

I use Plex 4-6 hours every day and it’s been working fine for ages. I just updated to 1.3.4.3285 and suddenly casting to Chromecast no longer works. I’ve rebooted everything… Chromecast, PMS, Plex client, etc. Nothing fixes the issue.

When I click the cast button the usual pop-up comes up, I connect to my Chromecast just fine. The Plex spinner shows up on my TV and then displays, “find some media and play it here.” However any media I play always plays to the tablet I use as a client to my PMS. The one thing I note that is different is after Plex connects to the Chromecast the cast icon in Chrome turns blue as though it is connected, but the Plex app cast icon does NOT turn orange, like it usually does.

What Chromecast device do you have? I was just able to cast to my Shield TV (not the Plex app, the Chromecast part of it) from my Nexus 6P.

It’s a bit odd. Casting works fine from my cell phone via the Android Plex app, but on my Windows tablet the web-based app can’t connect to the Chromecast. The Chromecast is the second generation one.

Also, the Plex app from the Windows Store can’t even detect the Chromecast, but the Chrome browser-based web app can detect the Chromecast. Definitely something weird going on with the Windows tablet. Again, this started happening only after the latest upgrade to PMS.

The Windows app can’t connect to the Chromecast. It’s a Windows vs Google thing.

Ah, good to know. Now I guess it’s just a matter of why Chrome can connect, but the web-based app cannot.

I saw that, but the problem is in the Plex Web App in the Chrome browser (supported), which has worked fine for years.

I am having the same problem. Has anyone found a fix yet?

On version 1.4.4.3495, I can ChromeCast from Web App in Chrome browser but only from the main page. Once the cast is active, I can select a media and it will play on the TV (ChromeCast).
The problem I still have is that if I try to start a cast from a media (without activating the Cast in the Plex Web app main page), the Cast button doesn’t work. It is showing up but does nothing when clicked. Anyone has this issue?
