Help everytime I need to claim my server it reports it needs an update. But I have the updated file and it wont let me claim?
Where is your server installed?
If it’s a NAS, which manufacturer?
If it’s a computer, which operating system?
It’s a Seagate external hard drive. I’ve installed the plex app and it takes me to the account but it wont claim
An “external hard drive” cannot run a Plex server. Are you sure you are not talking about a NAS device?
Yeah it must be a nas as I can access plex via it. It sees the seagate but keeps saying it needs the update and its the correct version on the app

So I access the Seagate via the IP address. Login and select the plex app. It will then open up a browser and asks me if I trust the IP address that the Seagate is associated too. Once im in, plex asks me to claim the server. But underneath it says that it needs an update and to manually install it. The update version is the same as the app but I lve clicked the update anyway and I get the same problem when I try again. Plex wont let me access the server until I claim it.
What kind of Seagate device is this? Can you tell me a name or model number?
It has worked before. I use a ps5 to link to it.

So its linked to my router. Accessed via my laptop. Watch the movies on the ps5. But for the last few months it hasnt worked so I’ve uninstalled the app and started again. And hit this wall. When I set it up years ago I never had to claim the server
