cloud service

i sent a request for the beta program of amazon cloud service 2 weeks ago and have not receive my confirmation, is that normal ? i mean its a lot of time and nothing… thanks!

The Plex Cloud Beta is being rolled out in stages to allow the developers time to adjust resources based on the number of users.

This beta, unlike others, is a very selective Beta and by followup invitation only at this point. There are a number of technical issues on the Amazon side which only Amazon can fix. As those get fixed and thing smooth out, Plex has stated in many other threads they will be including more participants.

My best advice to you is please be patient. Even I can’t use it correctly yet. Some can, some can’t. It’s very hit and miss but that’s why they are restricting the participants. It makes problem resolution more manageable

Form my experience and best guesses:
Nobody received the confirmation email. However there were a number of invites sent. If you have not received one then you are not in the current very small beta group.

The developers have what appears to be some rather serious problems to work out with Amazon before they will expand the beta further.

Plex Cloud is in VERY early beta and the Amazon system is not able to handle even the limited numbers well. I think that even calling the current testing “beta” might be stretching it a bit. The service seems more like a late “alpha” rather than a “beta.”

Disclaimer: Some of my experience might be colored by the fact that I have a very poor upload from my ISP (download is good) and that makes streaming from Amazon bad as upload impacts streaming more than I expected. Plex must be doing things differently or Amazon is behaving differently with the streaming as my poor upload has no effect on streaming from any other service and I can stream fine from Amazon’s cloud drive using my regular Plex server after mapping my Amazon cloud as a local drive.

I really think something else is going on and my problems are not just due to my poor upload. But, at this point, my Amazon Cloud server is nearly unusable. But it is a beta and maybe there are some changes coming that will make my experience better.

well if someone is interested i have a 200mbs upload and download internet speed, im in Mexico city

thank you all for your replies!!

You can play/stream your Amazon drive files with nPlayer app on iphone or ipad. You can also stream with kodi using amazon drive addon.
