Collection Custom Order Breaks Collection

I use custom order in my collections that are watched in a certain order rather than alphabetically or by release date (ex. Marvel MCU, X-Men, etc). This has worked forever, up until today. Any collection using custom order now shows no movies and only a message of “Something Went Wrong”, the only way to fix this is by editing the collection and switching the sort order to alphabetical or release date. Anybody experiencing this issue, or have any tips to fix this?

I am running Server Version 1.21.2.3943

Custom order in collections has never worked. Plex devs have commented before that the option slipped into a release by accident while they had been experimenting internally… all you got is the option in the dropdown menu — but none of the functionality.

Custom sort Playlists work though.

I’m sure the collection was showing before the last server update, 1.21.2.3943. It may not have been in the custom order, not sure.

Disregard my post. How I have been using custom orders (by editing the sort title to a custom order ie. Marvel 1, 2, 3), apparently also works as alphabetical. I had been using custom orders to accomplish this before yesterday.

Hello, Just wanted to say thanks because changing the sort order allowed me to access a specific collection after I was shut out. I experienced the “something went wrong” issue yesterday for the 1st time after updating to v1.21.2.3943 also. Had never been a problem before. The collection in question suddenly wouldn’t work on the web, iOS or Apple TV. Now if I change a collection sorted alphabetically or by release date to custom it consistently triggers the “something went wrong” error. So something definitely seems to have changed in this latest release that needs to be addressed. Thanks!
