Plex collections broken when using custom order

hello all
something i have observed, and it only started one or two versions back, is that some of my collections became broken. when i click on them (in browser), it say ‘ups, an unexpected error occured’. but in the overview, they show fine with icon and number of films in them. on apple tv, i can click into them, but they are empty with no movies shown.

what i found out is that it is the collections where i have custom sort activated. especially ‘star wars’. where i do not want the films to be sorted by date (4,5,6,1,2,3,7,rogue,8,solo,9) but (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,rogue,solo). i have done that in by using sort titles ‘star wars 1’ etc. (which is shown correctly in regular library overview when sorting movies by name).

when i delete the broken collection, recreate it with the default settings, it is fine at first (and films are shown by date as per default). if i then change it to ‘custom order’, it immediately breaks. i an repeat this over and over (delete collection, recreate)… any suggestions on this?

Plex have already commented that custom order accidentally slipped into a release. There’s no functionality to it yet… except it causing some error (reported for some days/weeks by other users).

Nothing you can do about it except not using custom order.
For now you’re stuck with assigning your movies a sort name.
