Collections are still displaying each item

I’m running Plex Server Version 1.18.3.2156 and Web Client Version 4.18.1.

I created some collections by filling in the Collections tag with the same value. Then on the Advanced properties of the collection I set the Collection Mode to “Hide items in this collection” but they still show in the list of movies. Am I doing something wrong?

They don’t tell you this, but Plex will only hide the items in the collection if the library is sorted by title. Could that be the issue?

I don’t think that’s the issue. I have no filters applied and I’m sorting by title. That should work from what I understand.

Yes, it should. Sorry, I don’t know. This is a snippet of my movies:

Ah, BigWheel’s writing, here comes the answer…

What to you have set for the library itself? If it is on Disabled change it to one of the other two.

if the library itself is disabled it will not show collections and will always show the items regardless of the individual collection settings

Yep, forgot about that.

Yup! That was it. I forgot about that setting. Thanks so much!

Where can I disable a library?
I can not find that option anywhere via PMP for Mac.

you can’t disable a library, at least for the admin user.

shared users you can restrict to certain libraries (disabling access to the libraries of the admins choice).

you can ‘pin’ or ‘unpin’ a library from the left side.

this is all done via Plex Web

edit- if you mean disable COLLECTIONS for a library, then you just need to EDIT the library and go to advanced.

I was referring to making the collection setting disabled for a library when you create/edit it
