I have two library’s pulling from different sources. Both have “Hide items which are in collections” enabled. In one library it works fine, but in the other it does not and displays everything.
I’ve tried enabling one of the other options and then re-enabling “Hide items which are in collections” to see if that would help and it does not.
The library where it’s working is about 150 movies, the one where it’s not working is 1300.
Are some of the effected movies in multiple collections? If they are any one is configured not to hide its items, this will override the hide option.
It’s also worth to take a look and compare the library preference to hide items in a collection with the corresponding advanced option in the respective collection.

They are only one collection. I also notice the collection it’self is not showing. Though when I search, it’s available. Clearly the collection is being created, just not displaying when I use the ‘collections’ tab.
It’s weird. under the smaller library, collections is just collections. The bigger library behaves differently in that it displays all of them including the ones not in a collection.
The libraries tab has no sorting option. That’s just available when using the Browse / Library tab. Collections will only be listed inline with your media on the Browse / Library tab if the library is sorted by title.
The two different libraries behave differently and IDK why.
The main clearly has sort options when in the Collections tab. And it displays both the items not in a collection and the collections.
The small one has no sort options in the Collections tab. And it ONLY displays collections. Anything not in a collection is not shown.
