Combine 2 Movie Libraries

I currently have two separate movie libraries each with their own seperate folders on the same hard drive. When I first started using Plex a few years ago this seemed like a good idea for what I was using it for. However I would now like to combine these two libraries and folders into one single movie library, is there any way to accomplish this without losing metadata or watch status?

You can accomplish this in one of two ways:

  1. You can edit one of the existing libraries and add the opposite folder. (It is possible to have several folders in a single library)

  2. You can create a new third library that points to all the folders you want it to look at. This could be advantageous if you share your libraries with others and you want to really control customized views.
