Community Builds of Plex Media Player Embedded 2.x for Raspberry Pi 2/3[+] & NUC/x86_64

@rolandbird are you experienced with Qt, just trying things seeking performance boosts?

I use generic on the NUC7I5BNK. I had to downgrade back to the public nightly 2.2.0 due to every remote command being interpreted twice using a harmony remote. I am chasing the latest build possible trying to get the latest audio formats working but I am not having any luck.

@stedaniels - Not overly experienced. The key reason is trying to see if makes a difference is performance. I have not noticed anything myself.

after many failed attempts I was finally able to compile the latest version. Below are the links for anyone who wants to try them. If this is against the rules please delete it or let me know and I will delete it. Thanks.
While running they show openelec base of 8.2 and Qt version 5.9.2

PlexMediaPlayer-2.8.0.1-b20d23b1.Generic-x86_64.img.gz
PlexMediaPlayer-2.8.0.1-b20d23b1.Generic-x86_64.tar
PlexMediaPlayer-2.8.0.1-b20d23b1.RPi2-arm.img.gz
PlexMediaPlayer-2.8.0.1-b20d23b1.RPi2-arm.tar

AWESOME SAUCE! hopefully, these will work!

similar problems, Logitech was doing two clicks for every one.
Videos would not even play at all.

was worth the try though! maybe 2.9 will fix some of these issues.

It should be in the settings menu under Settings | System. Its not needed under certain situations now since the support is in the kernel.

awesome, that’ll fix that issue, but I still can’t get that particular build to run on my NUC, going to try installing it from the IMG to see if that helps

with LIRC disabled, I fixed the duplicate input but now I cant turn the NUC off with the remote no matter what I try.
I kicked off the 2.9.0 builds. If it works, I will upload them for you guys to try.

I’ve updated the first post with links to Docker and community builds.

Also If you want to build for the Raspberry Pi 3+ please replace “https://github.com/plexinc/LibreELEC.tv plex-LibreELEC.tv” in step 2 with “https://github.com/stedaniels/LibreELEC.tv plex-LibreELEC.tv”. I’ve forked Plex’s LibreELEC.tv 8.2.2 build and merged it with the latest LibreELEC.tv build for 8.2.5 which contains Raspberry Pi 3+ support and fixes. I’m currently building this and haven’t tested it yet.

There isn’t a Settings → System UPDATE: Nevermind, its just in the Embedded version

Correct I was referring to the embedded build

How does one change the time zone?

Mine is currently 2 hours off.

(Pi B 3+ build is working FYI)

Refer to my pinned post in this forum.

Thanks! I didn’t have a chance to test it last night, glad it’s working for you.

I assume you are talking about the time issue? I also have a time issue. Mine is like 5 hours off! I have tried everything in your pinned post and NOTHING works!!! RPi3

Do they also work on Pi2B?
