What are the steps to completely remove PLEX from my synology HAS. Will be selling the NAS and want to remove PLEX MEDIA SERVER and the folder…NOT the media, just the plex server . I have already uninstalled, but the plex media folder remains.
VERY simple –
Control Panel - Shared Folders - Highlight “PlexMediaServer” - DELETE
Wait for DSM to delete it.
REALLY… I thought there was more to it… SSH in /volume1/@appdata/ or more to it…
If you want to get rid of any remnants / possible hidden references within DSM… have you considered wiping the NAS (restoring it to factory defaults)?
Well that is like killing a fly with a canon. There is still other file on the NAS that I don’t want to get rid of
Are you selling to a friend/family? It’s best practice to always factory reset devices before reselling as there may be personal information or account credentials on there that you may not even be aware of.
