Good start!
Change the port forwarding, so it only forwards TCP
packets.
UDP is not used for remote connections.
In the Plex web app, go to Settings > Server > Remote Access
put a check mark in front of ‘Manually specify public port’ and type in the ‘external’ port number from your port forwarding rule.
Click ‘Apply/Retry’.
Ignore any error messages at this point.
After doing that, restart your Plex server and let it sit at least 5 minutes.
Then go to http://canyouseeme.org/ and put in your external port number there and click ‘Check Port’.
If the test says ‘Reachable’, you’re all set.
Get any device with a plex client, that is not using your home network and try to access your server over a ‘remote’ connection.
