Content of my NAS is not visible

I regularly have trouble with my content such as films not being visible. As a work-around, I have to stop the Plex App in the Package Center and start it again. Then it works again. The problem is common. It does not matter if I open de iPhone, iPad of Apple TV app.

What could it be? How can I solve this? The IP address of my NAS is fixed. I have the latest version of Plex.

Server Version#: 1.40.2.8395-7000
Player Version#: 1.93.0.144-9b2f4a13
<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled>

What happens when you pin a few library sections?

It doesn’t matter if I pin the content. Everything is gone.

Check the permissions that Plex has.
Is Plex re-downloading all the content when you run a restart?

Logs might be helpful for people to assist with this also.

Server Debug logs ZIP file (captured a few minutes after server launch and having attempted to open the libraries) would be extremely helpful.

This behaves like a permissions problem on one regard but a damaged database on another (both easily fixed)

I uploaded my logs.

Here you have a screenshot of the permissions. PlexMediaServer had read and write permissions.

No everything is back when I stop and start Plex Media Server in Package Center. Plex download nothing.

I removed your logs from my computer; however, you shouldn’t upload logs with Verbose log data, you should remove it and re-upload.

Don’t know what that says but im assuming it says something like the following:
Type: Allow
Apply to: All

Try turning off Verbose debugging mode and also in the web UI Settings > Manage > troubleshooting try running the Optimize Database.

Note: I use a Synology shared folder (don’t know if this makes a difference but you can try that).

What does Verbose Logging? I turn it off and I optimize the database.

Should I delete all logfiles since I turned off Verbose Logging and create new logfiles?

Logfiles are stored in /PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server/Logs

The problem with verbose logs is they provide too much information, which makes it difficult to troubleshoot problems. Debug level logging is the default, and normally contain the necessary information.

You do not need to delete the existing log files. Just change the system back to debug level logging.

To reset the logging level, go to Settings → Server_Name → General + Show Advanced.

Then:

  1. Restart Plex Media Server
  2. Wait 2 - 3 minutes for PMS to fully start.
  3. Try to access your libraries.
  4. Pull the log files and post to the thread.

When setting permisions, make sure to check the box for “Apply to this folder, subfolder, and files.”

You can see the checkbox at the bottom of the middle window. It is partially covered, but starts with Toe…

plex

I followed the steps and I disabled verbose logging. There are still logs with verbose. Maby I need to wait longer or remove the logs?

I applied the checkbox.

When you change the logging settings you will need to restart plex. Restart plex and preform a scan then upload the logs. (there may be some verbose logs remaining but that is to be expected)

What is the best option? Make a copy of the log folder or use the Plex app to download the log files? Or doesn’t make any sense?

The easiest is to use the app as it will grab all the needed logs and create a zip for you.

Wich log files do you need?

com.plexapp.agents.htbackdrops
com.plexapp.agents.imdb

If you use the Plex web app it will create a zip with all of the needed files.

Since I’m just now walking into this, I would like to see the entire ZIP file with default contents.
