I uploaded the entire ZIP file. In some logs I removed my user id. I hope you can find something.

I am not using my photo libery in Plex. I am using Synoloy Moments for it.

Should I try to reinstall python?

That’s another problem. Plex does not download Dutch subs automatically. I will open a new topic for it when this problem is solved.

As a workaround you can generate SRT files from your video (if you do not already have the SRT file) using FFMPEG and then naming the files according to https://support.plex.tv/articles/200471133-adding-local-subtitles-to-your-media/

Today the problem occurred. I uploaded new log files
Plex Media Server Logs_2024-08-28_23-13-55.zip (4.6 MB)

Found it.

Something came into your router (?) … 192.168.1.1 , and it was using the old certificate. PMS bounced it for security.

That player app / whatever needs a full restart to get your current certificate which updated on 14-Aug-2024.

Aug 28, 2024 23:11:06.790 [140324783614776] WARN - [CERT] TLS connection from 192.168.1.1:58222 came in with unrecognized plex.direct SNI name ā€˜86-86-235-201.9e79b3e71b8a4b5aa60de20b5c2fb8a9.plex.direct’; using installed plex.direct cert

I am looking in my Synology Router and NAS, but I can’t find a certificate for Plex. The only certificate in my NAS, I see is from Let’s Encrypt. Its my Synology name.

Do you have an idea where I need to look?

The person at that IP address needs to RESTART their player.
When they do that then connect to you again, they will get updated with your current certificate.

There is nothing to do other than restart the app

I am the only one who is using Plex. Nobody else has access to my Synology NAS. The IP Address 192.168.1.1 is my Synology Router. You can’t install Plex Media Player on a Synology Router.

I am running Plex Media Server on my Synology NAS. I restarted my NAS three weeks ago. The problem occurred again on Wednesday. This problem has been going on for over 8 months now.

ChatGPT gave me a clear explanation. The certificate is managed by Plex itself for plex.direct domains. To solve the problem, you need to log out and log back in on all clients where you use Plex. Then the certificate will be renewed.

I have logged out and logged back in to my Plex account on my iPhone, iPad, iMac and Apple TV. Now it is a matter of waiting to see if the connection is lost or not.

I will keep you informed.

I’ve been replaced ??? …

By a bot ???

lol

Today, the problem appears on my iPhone, iPad and my iMac. My Apple TV was working fine. On Saturday I signed out and in on every device.

Shall I upload new logs?

Stop PMS
Start PMS
Wait 3 minutes
Stop PMS
FileStation → PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server
right-click ā€œLogsā€ → ā€œCompress to Logs.zipā€

download the zip file and attach here

I follow the steps.

Did you found something?

Sorry for delay. (been sick here)

  1. access to the ā€˜homes’ service for your photos doesn’t work.
    – I would creaet a Photos shared folder and put everything there. It will work a lot better and you’ll have just as much control

Sep 02, 2024 23:49:25.732 [140150170925880] ERROR - [Notify] Failed to add watch for ā€œ/volume1/homes/John/Photosā€ (13: Permission denied)

  1. Your certificate looks good but I will reset it for you if you wish.
    – You’ll only need to restart PMS when I do.

  2. This IP address is attemping to access using your old certificate name. Solve this by forcibly terminating that player app and then restarting so it pulls fresh certificate info. If a browser, Control+F5 / Control+R (reload) . Sometimes you must clear the Plex data from the browser (I had to recently. Old tokens & certs got stuck in Chrome)

  3. This tells me (http 403 error) your server’s certificate needs to be refreshed (the local copy).

I deleted the photos library. I don’t use it anymore in Plex. I use Synology Photos.

I went through the steps and after a minute the new certificate was there. I don’t use my web browser to use Plex. I have the Plex app running on all my devices.

Now I have to wait and see if my NAS remains visible

My libery is invisible again

I will upload new logfiles tomorrow
