The thing is, the content is available… to any other client. Also, it’s only the DVR recordings that result in this error on this client. All other libraries work just fine. DVR recordings work fine on any other client.
This client is a TCL 825 Roku TV. The error, “content unavailable”, is clearly wrong given these conditions. The server logs, observed through the web interface at least, present nothing when I attempt playback and I see this error on the client.
Also, if it’s a question of encoding or something, the client can view the same content via LiveTV without any issue. Just not when its recorded.
But mysteriously, the content in the missing library came back the next day all by itself
I do notice you are an update or two behind for your server. If the method on the link I provided doesn’t work maybe try to update to the latest version
Server update didn’t affect it of course… This has persisted through several server versions.
The debug log link you mention is for web debug, not tv client.
Sadly, I have to keep this awake myself, having not even a single response from Plex. Not a question, not a request for debug info… nothing. Disappointing. Meanwhile, I can’t watch TV recordings at all on any Roku (and just Roku). And Rokus continue to be able to watch Live TV just fine. These clues should mean something to Plex developers.
So this issue can be closed (not that it was ever apparent that it was open). This bug appears to have disappeared. I have kept the server updated pretty regularly. The Roku client may have updated on it’s own- not sure. So I don’t know what fixed it, but w/o me changing any configuration at all, the problem has disappeared.
