Continue Watching Shows Multiple copies

I thought this was a problem that happened if you had multiple versions in the same library. (only way I ever tried it before)

But, I have this show in two different libraries. Most people prefer the version dubbed in English (regular TV library) but I prefer the version in German that I’ve hardcoded English subs (foreign language shows)

No matter which one I start watching it brings up both in the continue watching
I have no idea which one I’m picking to watch until it starts to play. There’s no language designation on the resume page like there is with resolution.

  1. You have to jump through hoops to connect your libraries together using collections

  2. It’s impossible to connect your libraries using smart collections

  3. If I transfer a show from one library to another Plex acts like it’s never seen it before and it gets put in “recently added”

  4. Actors aren’t linked between libraries

Yet for this issue my libraries are forcibly linked together and there’s nothing I can do to stop it? :crazy_face:

if both versions share the same GUIDs they will both appear regardless of library. The only way to now show the duplicate is to either

  1. have one of the two libraries set be excluded from home screen so it will not show that content on home screen even if pinned. ( which will affect all users)
  2. don’t pin one of the libraries to home screen. CW on home screen is only populated from pinned libraries.
  3. use versions ( which I’m guessing you don’t want to do)

The only library I would consider unpinning is the smaller foreign language library. Unfortunately, that’s the one I want to show in the continue watching

Best option I could think of.
