Conversion failed. The transcoder exited due to an error

PMS 1.13.7.5369 solved this now for me.

Good news. :+1: Finally!
Now I’m waiting for this release to be available on Play Store (currently 1.13.5.5332). :crossed_fingers:

Thank you!!!

Hi, I seem to have the same issue here. My shield is running Plex v1.13.5.5291; I understand this issue is fixed in a new version. How can I upgrade my shield?

Thanks!

Hello DimitrPru,

You have to wait for the new version to be available on Google Play.
For now, the current version is the 1.13.5.5332 (smb)

I’ve tried to set the update channel on beta on my server’s settings, but it doesn’t work.
We have to be patient.
Maybe a Plex employee could give us an update on the availability of the new server version on Google Play.

Thanks for the response, but I thought this was already on the google play store, and released 2 weeks ago as described by sa2000?

Nope, not yet
@sa2000 any news ?

Thanks @straasha I didn’t know this page.
Activated for myself.

Hi,
I activated it myself, and when I try to sync a file to my iPhone (with HW acceleration activated), it still does not work. I have a message on my iPhone, saying ā€œcan’t syncā€, without any further information.

However, when I play the file, it works, and my Shield is transcoding when I play without downloading the item.

See attached the logs
Thanks for the help

please could you get a corresponding Plex for iOS log. I need to see both sets of logs when the can't sync error is returned together with a screenshot with the time

Hi, Thanks for the quick feedback. See below both logs, when reproducing the issue

can you just explain before we go any further. Where is the relevance of the subject of this forum topic Conversion failed. The transcoder exited due to an error

If it has no relevance - then please stop and raise a new forum topic describing your problem and re-attaching the logs. you can post a link to it from here

Hi sa2000, I posted here because I had the issue of the transcoder failing when playing a file with subtitles. I tried again this morning, still the same issue you mentioned: ā€œConversion failed. The transcoder exited due to an errorā€.

Here are the logs of this morning, while playing on my TV LG, using the Plex app on the LG store, with subtitles (causing the transcoding I believe)

To me, having the same issue when trying to convert a file on my iPhone is the same, as it is still a transcoding issue, but if you see this differently I can open a new thread, no issue.

The problem is still present on the latest PMS 1.13.8.5395.

Have the exact same problem on my NVIDIA Shield running latest (google play store) PMS version.

The last beta version of PMS ( Version 1.13.8.5388) seems to solve the problem for me.
All the media are synchronized without any issue now.
Thank’s a lot

Also experiencing the same problem on 1.13.8.5395

Please provide logs and media info xml for the file that was being streamed

See

It may be necessary to ask for a short clip reproducing the problem - but initially lets just get the logs and media info xml for the video that was failing at the time

Apologies for taking a long time to respond.

I am going to look at the various logs.
