Conversion not working... No response from Plex - NOT IMPRESSED!

Server Version#: 1.13.2.5142
Player Version#:

I have been using Plex up to version 1.13.2.5142 without any problems with regard to Optimising for TV.

Since then any of the updates have installed correctly but when I attempt to use the Optimise feature it doesn’t work.

I’ve just tried this with version 1.14.0.5470 and get the same result.

I keep having to uninstall Plex and reinstall version 1.13.2.5142 and then the Optimisation for TV works again.

Are you having the same problem or is it just me?

Any advice would be very welcome.

Can anyone answer this question as I can’t update what I’ve paid for and can’t contact technical support directly?

Thanks

Do you get any error message via the web app or in the logs?

Thank you for replying.

With Version 1.13.9.5456 I get a message stating…

" There was a problem converting 1 item. Check the status in Optimised Versions Settings"

When I go there it states that I have “1 Failed Item

The files I’m attempting to convert is an mkv file and I’m converting it for TV.

When I reinstall version 1.13.2.5142 the conversion works just fine.

Anyone else got an idea on how to solve my problem as I can’t believe I’m the only one having this happen?

I still can’t believe that after paying for this product that nobody from Plex is willing to help!

Not impressed so far!!

Is anyone going to comment; I paid my money but get no help???

I have the same issue. Running PMS on Nvidia Shield
PMS Version 1.14.0.5470

Try going back to Version 1.13.9.5456 as i did to see if that helps.

In the mean time no one from Plex has had the honour to respond!

They take our money but then ignore you!

People where asked to post logs.
Without those, help is not possible

I have no idea as where to find Logs, maybe someone could help?

Same problem here

Fare enough, but in the future, do speak up, since otherwise we have no clue

You can find and download the logs in the WebClient/Settings/Troubleshot

Remember to reproduce the error right before downloading the logs

I posted my logs in Connection refused on NVIDIA Shield TV PMS server when syncing content to Plex Client (tablet)

I wasn’t sure it’s the same issue, but I think so ?
Either way I have the same issue, I cannot convert/optimize at all.

You posted 10 hours ago, and I’m sure somebody with knowledge with the kind of hardware you are running, as well as using sync will respond soon.

Personally, I’m not a Sync dude, but merely stepped in here due to your frustrations, and saw you people never posted the logs that @tom80H requested

Since I couldn’t find a way to attach the requested logs I dragged and dropped them into this post.

I hope it worked and helps?

Hi @richard49

Looking at your logs it appears you’re experiencing a rare issue that affects Windows systems. Please check this support article: https://support.plex.tv/articles/227341367-windows-key-not-valid-for-use-in-specified-state-error-and-transcoding-analysis-issues/

Follow the steps to resolve the issue and see if that fixes it.

Thank you for your help, it is very much appreciated.

I did as you suggested and renamed the file concerned and then rebooted; I did notice that a new folder RSA has now appeared.

Unfortunately the problem still exists?

I take back what I said.

I only had one .mkv file to hand and it didn’t convert but a few others I have just managed to get hold of did convert so it was a ‘dodgy’ .mkv file.

That doesn’t mean that I didn’t have a problem with Plex as no files would convert prior to the help I received.

So once again, thank you for your help as everything appears to be back to the way it should be; I’m a ‘happy camper’ at last.
