Corrupt Database AND Most Plex Media Server Settings Options Missing

Server Version#:PlexMediaServer-1.22.3.4523-d0ce30438-x86
Please forgive me, this is my first post and hope I am doing this correctly. I found many similar posts, but none were helpful in my scenario… My Plex was running great last night and not at all today.

The issues are:

  1. Error Message “Corrupt Database - Plex Media Server was unable to open its media database.”
    Plex Corrupt Database

  2. All Plex Media Server Settings are gone except for …
    a. Account
    b. Online Media Sources
    c. Authorized Devices
    d. Webhooks
    e. Users & Sharing
    f. General
    g. Debug
    h. Player
    plex view

What I have:

  1. Lifetime Plex Pass for 4 or 5 years (with this being my first issue during that span)
  2. Current updated Plex Media Server
  3. Win 10, updates are current
  4. My media is on a RAID and still accessible/viewable outside of Plex

Here is what I have attempted or learned:

  1. Rebooted my computer
  2. I have the same issues on Chrome & Firefox, with cache cleared first on both browsers
  3. I logged off and then back onto my Plex Admin account
  4. Plex Media Server was uninstalled and reinstalled in the default location
  5. VPN is off
  6. AV is off

Can someone please help me map out how to fix this?

****Please note, I am VERY low-level on the techie scale. Most of what is written in these posts are well-beyond what I understand. I get terribly lost and confused if I have to Google most of what is written. If someone might explain to me as if I were their parent or grandparent, I think I would best understand you!!

Thank you all!!

When Plex Media Server can’t open it’s database, the program won’t run, so you can’t get to the settings. If you have a backup of the database, the easiest is to restore that backup. Restore a Database Backed Up via 'Scheduled Tasks' | Plex Support

Stand by … it looks like it worked for a moment but now it’s prompting me for an update; jury is still out …

If you are using PMS beta, there is a new beta out. That’s actually a good sign. That means PMS is running and it knows there is a new beta available.

it’s trying to connect to my server unsuccessfully and all the settings options are removed again.

Sounds like it tried to update and failed. Double check if PMS is running in the task bar. If not, try running it manually from the start menu.

You were spot-on. I grabbed an old back-up so I need to make minor tweaks on my end, but I am back in business. Thank you so very much for your help and patience!!
